I can’t tell you how many times I’ve begun a newsletter or blog entry with a reference to how fast time is rolling by… But for some reason, when I try to write about the past, I’m overwhelmed at how quickly the seconds tick past!
This time is no different. It seems as if we were just on the ski hill working with kids from churches, schools, and youth groups. Now we are preparing for our 7th summer of ministry at Camp Forest Springs. The snow is gone, and the leaves are beginning to bud out. I’m not sure I’m ready for this! But, ready or not, here they come!
We still have a number of openings in our summer youth camps, so if you, or someone you know would like to come and join us for a week that is sure to be life-changing, check us out on the website. Speaking of which… I’m still busy working on building the presence of Camp Forest Springs online. We are continually working to improve the information and process of learning about Camp through our website. Online registration, facebook, and internal computer web systems are always needing improvement! I really appreciate the opportunity to serve the Lord in this way. Thank you for helping make it possible.
Finally, here is a quick video that we put together to get the younger kids thinking about youth camps. Enjoy!
This past weekend I had the privilege of planning (with help of course) the mother/daughter retreat at Camp Forest Springs. It was a busy weekend filled with lots of details but one that God used to minster to the ladies. The weather was a bit strange this year since there was still lots of snow on the ground but we were able to find some different activities to make the weekend fun. The craft shop was busy and a few people even went snowshoeing.
Diane Windle was our speaker and talked about the biblical definition for the word Awesome and how it applies to God. She challenged our hearts and encouraged our walks with the Lord. We received lots of positive feedback about the weekend but most importantly we will pray that the impact that it had on the campers would carry through into the days and months ahead.
Normally Jesse is the one serving out and camp so it was good to have a role reversal. He held down the fort at home with the kids while I worked out at camp. I am glad to be back in the groove at home but it sure was a blessing to be able to coordinate this event!
These past few days were spend at Fort Wilderness in Rhinelander, WI with the entire staff of Camp Forest Springs. We joined together for a few days of encouraging Bible lessons as well as discussed the future of our ministry. The kids (Lauren and Jack) got to stay home with Miss Sally, one of the cooks at camp, and loved their time with her. Jesse and I (and Avie) joined the 25 other Missionary Staff couples and had a great time.
It is hard to believe that this was our 5th staff retreat now. Seems like just yesterday we were out raising our support. God has been so faithful and continues to be. We are excited to enter into our 7th summer of Jesse doing media. We pray for the kids that are anticipating coming and those that don’t even know they’ll be here yet. We are grateful to be serving in this capacity.
Sorry for not having any pictures with this post. We’ll work on that for next time!
