Baby Update
This Tuesday I will be 7 months and starting my 3rd trimester. Time sure flies. This past Wednesday I had my 27 week check up. Everything is going good. The baby’s heartbeat was a strong 144! At this appointment I had to even pre-register for the hospital so that is all taken care of when we come in to have the baby. Hard to believe it is coming so quickly. I also did the blood sugar test to make sure I do not have diabetes. I got to drink this stuff that tasted just like orange soda. It was actually really good. All is well and I do not have diabetes. Jesse and I are hoping to get up to Wausau in these next few days to look for a crib. Thanks for your prayers and we continue this journey towards parenthood!
Busy, Busy, Busy!

Check out this youth group from Calvary Baptist in Roseville, MN!
We are in the midst of serving almost 300 kids and leaders from several churches, schools, and youth groups this weekend. I just came in from supervising the tube hill. Brrr - It has been the coldest so far this winter with the temps in the low teens. I really enjoyed talking with the kids and will again have the opportunity to be with them as I am on the tube hill again for two hours this evening.
April and I also have the privilege of hosting a family at our house this weekend that some of you may know. Scott and Mandy Buchan are friends of ours that went to Oak Hills with us. They were also LTD staff here at camp several years ago. Now they have two lovely girls, Lilly and Evelyn. Scott is currently the director of camps and conferences at Oak Hills. They brought several students to check out what Camp Forest Springs was like. It is sure neat to see them again!
Leaving it in God’s Hands
“Negative thinking. A horizontal viewpoint. A closed mind to something that is unexpected and new. That’s why we tend to panic. Because, humanly speaking, you and I have been programmed toward defeat. We have formed habits of response that leave God out of the picture. We don’t actually announce it in those words, we just model it and rationalize around it by calling it something else.”
Joseph: A Man of Integrity and Forgiveness - Charles Swindoll
God has been teaching me a lot lately. In our Thursday morning Bible study, a group of men from the camp staff have been studying about the life of Joseph. The last chapter of our book covered our attitudes when things don’t go as we planned or desire. The Holy Spirit keeps reminding me, with that small voice in the back of my mind, that I need to leave my fears and anxieties in the Lord’s hands. Because, after all, if there is anyone who can handle it, it is God.
Isn’t it amazing that the God who spoke the universe into existance is the same God who cares that our car breaks down. He cares for even the smallest details of our lives. Why is it that I have such a hard time remembering that? My first reaction is to be negative. That is why I am so thankful that God works with and in us. His patience is overwhelming.
