August 18th, 2007 took Julie and her sister to Columbia to be a part of her oldest brothers wedding. On Sunday August 19th, 2007, Jonathan and Juanita Tarp were married in Bogata, Columbia. It was the longest Julie had ever been away from Simon and they were both happy to see each other (I was also happy to see my wife back safely).

August 23rd Marked a Very Special Occasion
Matt’s sister Becky and her son Carlos came to see the rest of the Huffman gang in Wisconsin. They came over on the car ferry across Lake Michigan and arrived in time to participate in the last Western Jamboree of the summer.
Carlos especially loved the Buckin’ Bronco (the Camp Forest Springs version of a mechanical bull) and the CFS Express (a small train donated to camp earlier this summer).
Part of the evening included a collecting tickets and than paying to have someone “arrested.”
I managed to stay under the radar for the first three weeks, but couldn’t escape a sister’s sinister plan to use her son’s ambition to earn as many tickets as he could and then use them to have her brother arrested.
Of course Carlos wanted to go to jail with Uncle Matt!
We had a great weekend with Becky and Carlos and we can’t wait till Christmas when we will be together again.

A Very Busy Week!
This past week we worked like crazy getting ready to move into the new house. Between the help of my family (Joy, Jessica, and James) who came to help, Matt’s dad Charlie, and some friends from camp (Tawnya, Lisa, and the Bishop family) we were able to accomplish a lot.
We started in Simon’s bedroom stripping 9 layers of wallpaper. Then the walls had to be repaired and the old carpet taken out. That’s all the farther we got in that room. We’ll have to fishish it this week
Then we moved to the kitchen and stripped the peeling paint from the cabinets. That alone took my mom and me 12 hours to do. We got the drawers and lower cabinet doors painted and back on.
Ceiling were painted in the kitchen, living room, our bedroom, and Simon’s room. The kitchen cabinets were painted, as well as the living room, and part of our bedroom.
Finally we started the cleaning process on Thursday. All of the cobwebs were wiped down, walls washed, window sills cleaned, as well as shampooing all of the carpets.
We didn’t quite get everything done that we wanted to, but by Saturday the house was ready enough for us to move in. A huge Thankyou to every one who pitched in and helped. We couldn’t have done it with out you!
