Baby Coming Tomorrow (we think)

For those of you who haven’t heard, we think that the baby is coming tomorrow, November 19th, 2007.  Julie is scheduled to be induced around 8:30 a.m.
To ensure that Julie has her midwife at the delivery, we opted for the induction as opposed to chancing her being on vacation for Thanksgiving
(she is scheduled to be on vacation from Wednesday through Sunday).
Here is the latest picture and probably the last picture taken from home before we head for the hospital.

Stay tuned for further updates as they are available.

Prediction Poll

For those of you following along with Julies pregnancy, she is 12 days from her due date and she says she is ready now.  The baby on the other hand, although moving a lot doesn’t appear to be on the move just yet.  So we decided that we needed a poll of all of you to see what your predictions are for when the baby is going to be born.  All you have to do is click on the comment box and add your prediction.  We will keep track and declare who was closest.  If you want to add the time to your day prediction, that might make it more interesting.  There is a prize involved if you need some more incentive to add your prediction to the list.
  Thanks.

Late Season Fishing

Today I did something I can say I have never done before, I went fishing on the open water in November.  Earlier this week I was asked by the Senior Pastor of our church (First Baptist Church of Medford Wisconsin) Brian Wipf if I wanted to go fishing this week.  Agreeing, we decided to go today.  It wasn’t as windy today as it has been all week and I was the big winner today.  Not that Pastor Brian isn’t a winner, after all, he did catch three fish, it was just that none of the three were big enough to keep (or worth really even mentioning accept I promised I would).
Before we left I checked the fishing report for Taylor County and it said that bass season in the open water was dead and nothing to report.  Well we proved them wrong today and I was absolutely dumbfounded that I would catch a fish that big so late in the season.  The offical report is a 21 inch largemouth weighing in just over two and a half pounds.

Needless to say we had a great afternoon out on the water and any time you can spend time enjoying Gods creation, it is well worth it.  I am sure Pastor Brian has already told people in Medford Wisconsin he had the opportunity to minister to a guy from Rib Lake Wisconsin today by not making him look bad out on the lake.  Either way, it was a great afternoon that I know I have needed for a while.  Thanks Brian.

23 Days But Who’s Counting

Counting the days began three days ago as Julie continues to get bigger and more uncomfortable.  November 20th is the official due date but it remains to be scene if she last’s that long.

Board Retreat

October 26-28 was the weekend set aside to have the Annual Board Retreat and Board Meeting.  Each year, a weekend is set aside in the fall for the Camp Forest Springs Board of Directors to meet at camp.  They have their meeting in the morning on Saturday, followed by a relaxing afternoon and fellowship time in the evening.

Saturday night is dedicated to a dinner, summer recap and honoring those board and staff members with their notable years of service.  This year held a special mark with many board members and staff being honored for their 5, 10,  and 20 years of dedicated service.

This year was marked with the special anniversary of John and Diane Windle.  30 years ago, the Windle’s joined the ministry of Camp Forest Springs and have been faithfully serving Him.  They spend the summer at camp, ministering to young and old alike.  During the rest of the year, they travel as an outreach team throughout the Midwest and beyond.  They present a variety of programs including amazing programs with puppets and music and are both, truly amazing.
