Til Death Do us Part… or As Long as the Papertrail Shall Endure

I- after 15 years- have decided to change the name on my Social Security card to match my husband’s.  Til now, the government has known me as Rebeccah Forbes- for the most part.  Actually, it’s DMV that has a problem with the inconsistency, as I’ve had licenses in 4 states and have procured a passport in those years with the name “Hopkins.”  Still, I can see their point- inconsistent though it may be.  Especially since it seems that my tax guy (that’s Dave) seems to have misplaced (thrown out) all of our SS cards anyway.  So I’m going straight- or at least I was trying to when I found out that my marriage license in Connecticut was never filed.  Oops.  My mind is reeling with the implications of my new-found status….
