Carter and Moriah taking Hunter Safety

Dave put in 40 hours this past weekend teaching and facilitating 28 students in the Camp Forest Springs’ Hunter Safety Weekend.  It was intense!  Carter and Moriah and I were all students and all passed the course.  Dave did a great job teaching the History of Firearms as well as Survival Skills, Orienteering, and some other assorted gun trivia I don’t remember.  It was valuable, as I pretty much hate having guns in the house- they make me nervous.  Kids and guns in the same house? Not a good mix where I come from.  But I guess it’s time to face the fact that I am indeed raising Wisconsinites.. (!!!)  How did this happen?  I was so careful to have them in New England!  Alas, this is a gun culture, and we’d best make friends with it.  As you can see the kids were riveted on the material the entire time.  It really reassures a mom…

There were 10 gals registered, so that was nice.  I didn’t want us to be the only chicks.  About fourty were there in all including those who were there just to chaperone underlings.

I should have you speak with my wife.  She loathes guns (and venison for that matter).

And yes, this is the Christian Fletcher from Master’s.  Drop me a note some time.  smile
