A Milestone Birthday
It is highly questionable as to whether Carter is indeed old enough to be turning 13, but even more importantly, I am almost sure that I am not old enough to have a 13-year-old. Let me check… Nope. Not old enough inside or out. We’ll have to get this whole mess straightened out. And by way of update, I did find out that Connecticut says Dave and I are married. It is Wisconsin that questions it. So we are moving toward legitimacy here, and isn’t that all that is really required of us?....
Meanwhile, Poppy made Carter’s favorite dinner for the controvercial occasion. Stuffed and deep-fried Pablano peppers. YUMMMM!!!!

Back in the Swing
We kicked off the homeschooling shackles of yesteryear and opened our home again as we love to do- this time a Harvest Party with the contract staff from camp. I found that we had to put a hold on that part of life that we love in order to preserve my precious sanity, which was always up for grabs as I schooled Carter and Moriah last year. This year, I find I have more space in my heart and mind to share life with non-familial peeps. So in that spirit, we had a great time eating fried dough, drinking cider, painting and carving pumpkins and zucchini and playing games. Great times…
