A month from today…
I ran in high school. I was faster and smaller then. Now, 15 years after joining cross country as a high school student I found myself enjoying running again. It has been refreshing to have a “me goal” this summer….something that I do not because I have to, not because I should, not because I need to prove something, but simply because I am a happier person when I run a few days a week, simply because it has been good for me to challenge myself and jog and talk with a friend, simply because it is a “me goal.” It has been incredible to challenge myself in this way and see how God created legs to move and hearts to pump and muscles to stretch. (Not to mention some ‘er pain in the knees!) So, in one month I will run my first half marathon. (I read an article that said I should tell people because that ensures that there is no backing out.) So, there you have it…“run” might be a bit of a stretch at times, but none the less, these buns will be shuffling 13.1 miles and enjoying every minute of it!
